Job Description

Position Summary:

The Senior Technical Engineer executes technical projects and programs within the start-up environment of H&T Nevada. Projects will cover new equipment design, industrialization, installation, improvement of existing equipment and processes and the participation in development of new process technology including but not limited to custom automation, robotics and testing equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage technical projects with full responsibility to project team and for defined budget Project examples:
    • Equipment specification, qualification, installation and start-up of new production equipment within the Gigafactory
    • Optimization of current automation and inspection equipment
    • Further development of our fully integrated can making and inspection process

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of experience in engineering and/or production in a high volume metal or plastic components business with a high degree of automation
  • Technical degree such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Expert level knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical/controls design and its application in automated industrial installations, including specification of motors, gears, mechanical systems, control systems, pneumatics, vision systems, other inspection systems, and conveying systems
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control and data analysis (eg., JMP, Tableau, Spotfire, advanced Excel)
  • Proven track record of successful execution of technical projects and/or successful continuous improvement achievements
  • Willingness to re-locate to Reno, NV area permanently

 

Skills Required:

  • Very good technical know-how gathered in mass manufacturing environment, preferably in metal processing and/or metal deep drawing
  • Good Team Player
  • Solid Project and vendor management skills
  • Ability to manage within an international environment
  • Willingness to initiate and execute changes

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No direct reports, responsibility to supervise groups within managed projects

 

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Working for a supplier of components within the rechargeable battery industry, a fast-growing dynamic environment
  • Very fast paced and team oriented atmosphere, manufacturing within an extremely large building where the customer and the customer’s customer are under one roof
